After the storm
Important information for members following outage restoration efforts
After storms roll through and outages have been restored, what are the next steps and important pieces of information that members need to know?
For starters, please know that while all possible outages related to recent storms or events may have been restored, there is still the chance that some follow-up outages may take place. These can occur for a variety of reasons, such as weak tree limbs falling onto lines or crews de-energizing some small areas to complete their repairs.
While we always hope our members come out of weather-related events with no damage, we realize that isn’t always the case. Depending on what electrical system components were damaged, it may be the homeowner’s responsibility to have these components repaired or replaced. Items such as a home’s meter base, riser and weatherhead are the member’s responsibility. Please let Salt River Electric know about any type of damage to these system components, and contact a local, licensed electrician to make repairs.
Additionally, we know that trees can be the cause of many storm-related outages in our area. Salt River Electric always prioritizes the safe, rapid restoration of power after a storm. That means our crews are focused on restoring power, which can include removing fallen trees from power lines. Once they’ve done that, crews will move on to their next location to continue restoration efforts. Because crews do not return to collect debris, the debris is left with the homeowner.
